Free Image Hosting

I recently had my image of the Red Shoes in an exhibition at the Viewfinder Gallery in Greenwich. It is the first time I have exhibited outside of the university organizing an exhibit. The image was popular and got a good reception which gave my confidence in my photography a really big boost.

I also got the images from the Hawes and Curtis advertising shoot I assisted on and the images look really good. I think background that Lucy and Chirag built the night before worked really well. They make a really good team and are always fun to work for.

In my own photography I have been looking at printing on glass and mirrors for one project and starting my final project. I have done one shoot for the final project but it is not quite what I am looking for and have two more shoots in mind to do next week. I just need the time first! Things have been crazy with waitressing work and trying to fit uni work in too and doing an internship with Louise at the Viewfinder Gallery. Thankfully Louise has said that I can cut back my time at the gallery until things at uni have calmed down a bit. I feel it’s a shame I have to do that because I really enjoy working there but honestly, university is so important and there isn’t too long left there.

Anyways, I am off to do a shift now.

The last semester

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

I have started my last semester of university. I only have 3 hours of classes a week so I am trying to keep myself busy with working my paid job and also interning at the Viewfinder Gallery in Greenwich. I am there two days week learning every I can from Louise the curator there. I’m really excited about it and my first day is tomorrow! I am also hoping to enter something into the Open Salon exhibition this week.

I have also been doing some freelance work here and there and last week I got to assist on another Hawes & Curtis campaign. I will put some images up when I am able to but it is very exciting! I am also still working with Zoe when she needs an assistant. Also my friend Lucy Brown said she may need my help on some upcoming fashion shoots she has soon.

All this makes it sound like I am not doing any of my own work! Alas, I still am trying to take photos every day and posting them to my Flickr account while also doing a rather ambitious university project! Oh and helping organise the end of year show and fundraiser!

All this means the next three months will be very interesting for me!

Hawes & Curtis A/W 2009

Recently I have been trying to get some experience in fashion photography by assisting people with various shoots. One of the more recent shoots I worked on was for Hawes & Curtis, shot by my friend Lucy Brown. Mainly I was in charge of moving and setting up the lights, making sure the set was clear of object and there were no reflections from the mirrors dotted around the bar. It was loads fun really.

I will also be helping out on some fashion with photographer Zoe Zimmer soon, which I am really excited about as she is a fantastic photograher.

Groovy

I always wanted glasses, now I have some. I know they are retro and Dame Edna-esque but I love them and with the right outfit they can turn into Adurey Hepburn-esque, and that is never a bad thing.

Thecoolhunter.net recently stated that skinny jeans were becoming unfashionable.

Mark our words: skinny legs are on their way out. Hard to believe, we know, given that every hipster from Hobart to Helsinki is sporting licorice legs right now but the tide is slowly turning, thanks to the world’s top designers who have decided that they’ve had enough of the look. Enter Prada, who are still setting global trends and leading the way in true fashion innovation, despite being a global mega brand (which usually spells one thing: boring). The brilliant fashion house is on a mission to bring back seriously voluminous “flares,” but with a fabulous signature quirky Prada twist in the form of lavish fabrication and intricate prints. Not for the faint-fashion hearted.
