I have a very small exhibition tomorrow based on the work that everyone who went on the uni trip to Berlin took. I am really excited as I feel the work I have put up is a starting point for a project I wish to spend alot of time and money on once I finish university. It is based on the experiences of people with the Berlin Wall. Apart from that I have been trying to earn some money and carry on doing uni work while helping organise the end of year show. It has been very crazy recently.

So I am trying to write my final project proposal which is due in Friday. It only has to be 150 words, sounds pretty easy right? It would be if I didn’t stop changing my mind as to what I will be doing for the next of year of my life! I mean the general gist of my project I have down, how I want it to look, but it’s just the details I am struggling with!
Do I discuss the lost of innocence in different stories, or do I concentrate on one?
Do I discuss feminism in different fairy tales or to stick to just one?
If I do do more than one story will it be a cohertent series of images?

Perhaps I should stop drinking caffine so late at night and talk to someone about it tomorrow.

First off let me just say there are no presents in this post it just goes well with the rest of the title!

The next two or three weeks just seems to be filled with presentations and proposal as to what I am going to be doing for the next year. I can tell what I’m going to be doing, lots and lots of uni work!

I am kind of struggling at the moment with balancing work work and uni work as I haven’t yet recieved my student loan and am therefore working all I can to be able to survive, but hopefullay that should all be resolved by this time next week, and then three weeks after that I will hopefully be in Berlin again with uni. My friend Charlotte will be coming with me, and also hopefully one of my flatmates Aly, but she’s still hesitant about it. I’m not sure why, these are always awesome trips. I’ll be sad next year when I can’t go anymore. Especailly if they go somewhere I haven’t been!

As for my photography, today I am doing my presentation for Editorial Imaging. I’m hoping to get the go-ahead for a project about taking portraits of people who live on house boats. Either that or portraits of people who live at my local Eco Village. And then I’m going to work after that, after working yesterday (though I did get my second tip EVER, and my first tip as a waitress! £5 no less! ( I do events, there not much call for a tip)) and coming home to do more uni work. AND THEN, (I feel like a kid, ‘AND THEN, and then, then susie wee’d in her pants!!!’) doing even more uni work before uni tomorrow!!

As for for my work experience with Zoe she is in LA again soon, so that’s on hold until she gets back. I so volunteer to go with her, but I can’t afford the tickets.

Anyways back to getting ready for uni/work!!

Recently I have been trying to get some experience in fashion photography by assisting people with various shoots. One of the more recent shoots I worked on was for Hawes & Curtis, shot by my friend Lucy Brown. Mainly I was in charge of moving and setting up the lights, making sure the set was clear of object and there were no reflections from the mirrors dotted around the bar. It was loads fun really.

I will also be helping out on some fashion with photographer Zoe Zimmer soon, which I am really excited about as she is a fantastic photograher.

It’s my birthday today, I am 23 and what did I get? I got a flat to rent for the next year in Ealing!! Which is actually better than it seems as I was about to go crazy with the amount of time I was spending on my phone to estate agents. I swear more than a few of my brain cells have been fried in the last week from being on my mobile so much!

Now if my online student loan form would go through unlike the last 3 times I have tried today would be amazing!

Oh yea, I didn’t get that internship either. They ended up hiring someone the day before my interview, which sucks but is probably for the best.

I finished university yesterday and handed in everything on time. I surprisingly didn’t feel nearly as stressed out as I did last semester, and I don’t think I was the only one who was eerily calm. Almost everyone I spoke felt the same way.

Some of my classmates were saying yesterday how suddenly they felt bored by having nothing to do, but I feel like I am going to have thankfully busy summer. Not only is my family coming over from the US next week, my mom is getting married, I’m going to see my dad in America and I plan to start researching my dissertation and my final project while doing my work experience. I am really looking forward to doing to my work placement. I have an interview for a place in two weeks and I don’t want to jinx it, but I really really want to work there.

So this summer expect comments on essays and little snippets of information about the theory of photography.

Sorry for the lack of updating. I am having problems getting connected to the internet since I moved. But I have a little bit of connection right so I will quickly update.

Some new photos are on the front if you haven’t seen them. They are from a range of projects I did last semester.

This semster though, it’s so awesome. Studio Practice, Advance Imaging, and Language of Photography are my modules. I get to make a book. And I have the best idea for the book. I can’t wait to do it, if I can pull it off right it’s going to be the best thing I’ve ever made.
